Landscape Design

Our landscape design process begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your needs. The landscape designer will visit the site and talk with you about how you and your family use the space, elements that you would like in your garden and your style and color preferences. Also during the first site visit, the designer will identify any existing plants that you would like to keep, determine available lighting and assess any drainage issues you’d like to correct.

Evolving Landscapes’ designer will work closely with you to create the landscape you envision for your home. While designing, we focus on creating a landscape design that is suited to the style of your home and the natural setting of your property. We also want your landscape to look beautiful during all four seasons, especially during the long gray winter days we have in Kansas City. We create all of our designs as photo-realistic 3-dimensional images so you can see a close approximation of what your home will look like. We will work together for as long as needed to create a landscape design that meets or exceeds your expectations.

We can even create a design for you in stages so you can add something new every few years. By choosing to landscape your property over a period of years, rather than all at once, you achieve a consistent design concept for the whole property, while working within this year’s budget. A professional, well thought-out landscape plan can save you time and money by eliminating the risk of a “trial and error” planting method.

If you are going to be installing your landscaping yourself, our landscape designer will create a to-scale diagram so that you can easily see how far apart to place your plants. We can also provide you with a reference booklet containing planting and care instructions for each plant in your design.
